What is included in the curriculum?
The curriculum is designed and trial tested from beginning to end. Starting with colorful In-shop Signage, Social Media and E-mail Marketing content, Required Fabric & Tools List, Student Take-home Checklists, Teacher’s Guide and Certificates of Completion. Beginner Quilting 101 Questions
How long is the Beginner Quilting 101 Course?
Beginner Quilting 101 is designed for four sessions, 2 hours each, divided into 15-minute segments for a total of 8 hours of instruction. Check out the full curriculum details.
Is Beginner Quilting 101 appropriate for novices?
Yes. Simple straight-line sewing is all that is required. The workshop includes instructions to mark 1/4” with painters’ tape, however most students will look to purchase the appropriate sewing machine feet for their personal machines. The teachers guide offers suggestions for supporting students of various experience and modifications to help all students succeed.
What does the Beginner Quilting 101 quilt project look like?
The finished quilt top is 30.5” x21”. The student workbook includes instructions to add borders if students wish to do so. This mini quilt top can also be made multiple times to create a larger design. Since this is a beginner 8-hour curriculum the focus is on clear instructions and student success. Although the design is simple, beginner students can be successful and ready to take on the next project.
Intro to Improv Questions
Is Intro to Improv appropriate for novices?
Yes. Simple straight-line sewing is all that is required. Students should be familiar with sewing 1/4” seams. In fact, improv quilting provides more freedom than traditional quilting with more design focus rather than precision. The teachers guide offers suggestions for supporting students of various experience and modifications to help all students succeed.
Intro to Improve is designed for four sessions, each 3 hours long divided into 15-minute increments for a total of 12 hours of instruction. Check out the full curriculum here.
How long is the Intro to Improv course?
What size is the complete quilt top in Intro to Improv?
The minimum requirement is six 8.5” square blocks. The beauty of improv is that you can create as many blocks as you want to make any size quilt. Your imagination is the only limit.
Ordering & Access Questions
Can multiple instructors use the curriculum?
Yes. License to use the curriculum is based on the number of instructors and locations. An individual license allows unlimited use in your shop with your instructor. Multiple location & instructor license is also available for purchase.
Are plans customizable?
Yes plans can be customized. After purchasing a license to use the curriculum, customizations can be made on an hourly basis.
